March 6th!!! 2011 North Carolina Artists Exhibition in Raleigh, NC!!!!
Now this is some very exciting news! I am THRILLED to announce that one of my pictures will be in the 2011 North Carolina Artists Exhibition in Raleigh, Mar 6- May 2nd at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, in the Betty Ray McCain Gallery!!! Out of a record-breaking 550 pieces submitted this year, 65 pieces were chosen by the Juror, Mr. Peter Nisbet, Curator of the Ackland Museum of Art in Chapel Hill!!! The opening Exhibition will be this Sunday Mar 6 2-5:30 pm :) It’s the 2011 North Carolina Artists Exhibition!!!! If you know people who will be in Raleigh on Sunday, tell them to come and see it. The Juror, Peter Nisbet, is also going to do a walk-through lecture at 2pm, explaining his selections! If you can’t be there this Sunday, but will be in Raleigh another time before May 2nd, stop by then! ☺

I will be doing a Presentation at the Statesville Artist Guild's March membership meeting, 7-9pm at the Signal Hill Mall. It will be an Artist Talk followed by a demonstration of some useful tricks in Photoshop, handy for creating a digital collage. Will have to celebrate St. Patrick's Day after!

The show opening for Layers of the Mindscape (June 26, 2009) was a huge success! Thank you VERY much to everyone who came out!!
There was a HUGE turnout; I wouldn't be surprised if 400+ people came through there. The room was constantly full, (from about 8' O Clock until we were forced to shut the doors on people who would have still come in after 10,) briefly emptying out every now and then, only to fill back up immediately with a seeming bus-load of new people! We enjoyed a joyful, exuberant atmosphere in the gallery and enjoyed meeting everyone who came in!
My family and I spoke with many interesting people about mental health and manic depression, the topics of the day, (also one of the main goals of the work!!!) and I even spoke to a man who was interested in commissioning me to do a project, creating a picture for his workplace similar to my picture, "Untitled (Snow 2009)"!
And one more thing--- I even sold a picture! "Untitled (the Guinea Pig)" was the first piece for which I was honored to place a red dot sticker on the label- "sold”!
Thank you very much to everyone who helped make this such a success!
